Neal O’Riley | 39 | Alcoholism, Drug Abuse, Rage Disorder | Christian Bale | Open
Neal is the father of Astor O’Riley. He and his wife Julia were raising their daughter in Ireland when something in him just….changed. Neither his daughter or even his wife understood when he started drink and later got into hard drugs. Once under the influence, he would beat both his daughter and wife until he grew bored and would go off doing something else. He just didn’t care anymore. Though unbeknownst to his family, he’d already had a record of alcohol ad drug abuse. Every man on his side of the family did and he was no exception. When he met his wife, he fell in love at the sight of her and decided to quit everything then and there to be with her.
Then a couple years after the birth of his daughter, he no longer cared and he was suddenly hooked again. All their money when to whiskey and drugs and that’s all. He didn’t care about anything else. When his daughter showed signs of mental disorders, he just beat her harder for not being good enough and when Astor tried to take her own life, he lost it. While Astor was safe at High Royds, her mother was left to take her beating.
One night, Julia decided she’d had enough and had his committed for his sickness before leaving him. And even here, in the place where you would think there would be people to watch him, he still manages to take his anger out on the only person he knows he can get away with. His daughter. Only time can tell at this point if Neal will ever return the the loving family man her once had been.
Clyde Whale | 35 | Psychotherapist | Johnny Depp | Open
Doctor Clyde Whale grew up in a small town in the middle of no where that he just knew he had to get out of. The only way he could do that was to go to university and what he had chose was psychotherapy to study his own mind. In reality, he knew that the only thing from keeping himself as a patient was his degree. He was good at helping others because he was going through the exact same things some points in his life. He talked to his patients with an open mind and was willing to experience what exactly his patients were going through so he, himself, could help them first hand. His methods are far from traditional and Clyde takes pride in that. When he had heard about High Royds and that they were a bit short staffed, he packed his stuff and flew to what he now considers home..Perhaps through saving these patients, he can save himself.
Wait- You seriously didn’t get it from the goodbye?
Bitcheesssss! Why yes- The rumours are true! I am quitting role playing for good. Being around such depressed characters really isn’t helping me recover- Not to mention I have no motivation for this shit anymore. I want to say how sorry I am but really I have no remorse and I really don’t give a fuck that I’m leaving. Roleplaying just isn’t something I’m interested in anymore. If any of you fucks would like to stay in touch- Feel free to add me on skype (molly.thy.grace)
Adios mother fuckers
At the moment we’re in a bit of a slow patch, but we’re trying to get everything up and running again.
Jason Nolan | 29 | Security Guard | Ashton Kutcher | Open
Jason Nolan has been around this place longer then just about anyone else can remember. His mother was a patient here for bi polar disorder and depression. His father wasn’t around much, so much of the time he would stay with his mother in one of the facility’s apartments. He’d always be walking around, talking to patients and the staff and trying to help out in the little ways that he could. However, after his mother died of a heart attack just before the facility shut down, Jason left to travel around the world a little.
He was always a bright kid, very good looking, and always eager to help and protect. So when he got word that High Royds was reopening their doors, he quickly hopped aboard as a security guard to do what he could to protect those he cared about.
While he’s a very lovable guy, very loyal and funny, when the going gets tough or someone is in danger, he quickly puts on his game face to get the job done. When there’s trouble, all jokes and smiles are put aside. Jason is well aware that this place isn’t safe, but by now he understands how to approach these people and try to help them.
Felicity “Jinx” Delona | 19 | PTSD, Physical Abuse, Substance Abuse | Charlotte Free | Open
Though one would never guess taking a first look at her, Felicity was born to a high middle class family. Both her parents did well and she was always given everything she could ever want. However, Falicity was the black sheep of her family, she dressed differently, she thought differently, and she simply did not feel like she was born to the right family. But it was something she’d learned to deal with. On the outside, her life seemed perfect. But those looking in never do see everything that’s going on.
Around the age of 14, her parents got a divorce, though the girl was hardly fazed by it. There was not huge custody battle or feud between her parents. They just realized they love each other anymore and they chose a clean divorce and did their best to make it as easy as they could for their only daughter. It was when her mom, whom she was living with, brought home a new guy. He seemed okay at first, but after the wedding bells rang a few months later, things started to change.
Her once huge range of freedom was suddenly shrunken to a third of what it use to be. She wasn’t allowed to do certain things and while she did her best to adjust, sometimes her and her step father would have it out like no other until it got to the point that even the little things she wouldn’t or would forget to do, she’d get hit or beaten for.
By the age of 17 she had enough and ran away, dropping the name Felicity and calling herself Jinx. She made friends on the streets that gladly took her in, but quickly got her caught up in drugs and alcohol until it was all she thought about.
One day, her friends noticed something had changed about her. She was with drawn and quiet. She’d take her drugs and do them alone and they noticed little things, like moving quicky near her or grabbing her would make her flinch or cry. They’d had enough when the nightmare started and she’d do nothing but make noise and cry in her sleep. So they all agreed to drop her off at the gates of High Royds and not look back. Leaving the doctors to figure out what’s wrong with her head anymore.

Phoenix Lowe | 16 | Mania, Psychotic Depression, and Self-Harm | Brooke Hyland | Taken
Phoenix was an extremely moody girl, but as she got older it started getting worse. She would go through these stages where she was suicidal and hopless and then she would be so happy and optimistic. She didn’t think nothing was wrong with her, but everyone else thought so. When her dad got a new job they had to move, Phoenix was happy to move because she was getting tired of kids at the other school calling her weird. When she entered her new school it was just as bad as the last, she was called fat and ugly, kids often encouraged her to suicide. She didn’t know how to deal with her emotions so she started to cut herself. Everything she did to hurt herself often took her mind off of the emotional pain. When her mother caught her in the act of cutting she was embarrassed. Her mother got her a therapist, and though she refused to talk she would open up little by little to the doctor.
As months went on it was undeniably true that she had depression. Her parent accepted it and so did she, but once she started to hallucinate and think demons were next to her or in her room she would get scared and run to her parent’s room. When she would tell them what happened they simply told her not to think about ti and would go back to sleep. The next doctors appointment didn’t go too well. She was pacing the room talking about how she wanted to kill herself or her parent’s and would mumble something about demons every few sentences. When the session as over the doctor called her mother in and told her what was said, but she looked completely fine on the outside when she was in the waiting room reading a magazine. She was put off as a threat to herself and others, so they decided to send her away.
